NIARR

Nordic Institute for AI Risk and Resilience.

Context

NIARR is an independent, non-profit and nonpartisan association in Stockholm, established in September 2026. It connects researchers, public authorities, policymakers, technologists, companies and civil society to work together on AI risk and resilience across the Nordics.

Goal

To advance AI-risk literacy, connect disciplines and institutions, contribute to informed governance and help build resilience across the Nordic and European AI ecosystem.

My role

Deputy board member. I contribute in different ways, with presentations and with my design skills.

Result

Just getting started. So far I have made the presentation deck that introduces NIARR, and contributed to a presentation about AI risk at Chas Academy.

Duration

The presentation

I made the presentation deck that introduces NIARR: Building AI Risk and Resilience Across the Nordics.

The cover slide: the NIARR logo above the title Building AI Risk and Resilience Across the Nordics and the lines Connecting knowledge. Bridging silos. Building resilience. in turquoise, beside a glowing brain made of small coloured particles on a dark background

The cover slide

From why NIARR exists to how to take part

The ten slides start with the problem: the impacts of AI are interconnected, while the responses to them still work in silos. From there they cover NIARR's vision, mission and origins, the six focus areas, the four pillars of the approach, the Leadership Council as the first initiative, the Nordic ecosystem NIARR convenes, the ways to get involved and a proposed roadmap, and end with an invitation to shape it together.

Every claim has a source

Each slide names where its content comes from, the website or the founding statement, and what is still only proposed is marked as proposed. An organisation this new has more plans than facts, and the deck keeps the two apart.

What comes next

I will keep contributing in different ways: with presentations, and with design.
